The colorful Bengali New Year, Pohela Boishakh, demands a joyous celebration and traditional cuisine. Aam Pora Shorbot, a mango cocktail that combines sweetness, sourness, and smoke, is one such fantastic drink that goes well with the summer heat.
Here’s how to cook it at home!

Ingredients: 1 cup of roasted mango pulp, or Aam Pora Kash ,Sugar (to flavor) , One teaspoon of black salt at midday , A handful of chopped mint leaves, or pudina , One teaspoon of green chili, coarsely chopped (optional; gives a little heat) , Water (if needed) , Crushed ice
Method: Roast the Mango: Lightly char a raw mango over an open flame or burner until the skin turns black. Let cool, then remove the pulp by peeling.
Put the roasted mango pulp, sugar, black salt, mint leaves, water, and green Chile (if using) in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
After straining, serve: Pour the mixture into glasses with crushed ice after straining it into a pitcher. Garnish with some fresh mint leaves. Taste and adjust the sweetness and spice.
